WHERE TO SHOP IN VANCOUVER
There are so many amazing shopping districts scattered throughout Vancouver City. Here are a few of our favourite areas to go shopping in Vancouver.
Robson Street
Robson Street is Vancouver's most famous shopping street. Home to over 100 shops this is a shoppers paradise. The best part about it is there is such variety along the strip, from cheap brands all the way up to your high-end fashion stores. Here is a list of all the places to shop and eat at Robson Street.
Just a short walk away you can also visit Pacific Centre Mall at Robson & Granville, downtown's largest mall. With over 90 stores you could easily spend your day shopping along Robson Street and ending it off at the Pacific Centre Mall.
Main Street
Main Street, from 20th Ave to 22nd Ave, is the place to go for fashion. There are both amazing local and independent designers along the strip. Lots of cool vintage, thift stores and main stream hipster-style stores are found along Main Street. If you are shopping for clothes specifically I would highly suggest checking this street out.
Gastown
For high-end independent fashion stores you would come to Gastown. The streets are beautiful with cobblestone pavings, historic buildings and amazing cafes scattered throughout the neighbourhood.
There are a lot more fashion stores in Gastown than Main Street, however they much more expensive. If you can't afford the high-end stuff I still suggest you visit Gastown as it is such a lovely area for window shopping.
Gastown
Metropolis at Metrotown
This shopping center may not be found in the heart of the city, however it is the largest in B.C with nearly 400 stores. The mall is 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver via SkyTrain. We have been shopping at Metropolis a number of times and have still yet to see every store, it is huge!
South Granville
South Granville is known as Vancouver's shopping neighbourhood and for good a reason. South Granville is packed with shops of every kind. You will find a place to shop for fashion, both antique and modern furniture, books, home and cookware and a lot of art. The shops range from international stores to small, local boutiques.
If you are an art enthusiast you will definitely need to take a visit to South Granville. There are so many art galleries it is often referred to as "Gallery Row".
Granville Island
Granville Island is home to the Granville Island Public Market. If you love market shopping, full of locally owned stores than you must spend a day at Granville Island. You could easily spend a day exploring the Public Market featuring farmers’ market, day vendors and artists offering local Vancouver goods. There are over one-hundred day vendors in stalls throughout the markets giving it a lively atmosphere and a great day of shopping.
