TOP THINGS TO SEE & DO IN PAROS

Paros33.jpg

Our last stop on our Greek trip was Paros, BUT before we share with you guys what we got up to and tips on what we think you should do when you come, we had to share these couple of pics with you.

We took a ferry from Santorini to Paros - and we couldn't believe how stunning Santorini looked from the ferry as we sailed away. Such a beautiful island. If you haven't already check out what we got up to in Santorini, here's a link to our blog post.

Things to Do in Paros

Naoussa

Naoussa is a picturesque fishing town and a place to go if you are looking for some vibrant nightlife. Taverns and small eateries surround the port area and serve good food and great coffee (totally recommend the waffles from Meltemi Cafe). If you are a party person there are plenty of bars and nightclubs that stay open till dawn scattered throughout the area.

Stay at a local Bed & Breakfast

Nothing can beat Greek hospitality. We have found the Greek's to be some of the most loveliest people we have ever met thorughout our travels. Paros has a bunch of cute, ma and pa style B&B's to stay at. We stayed at Swiss Home Hotel which offered panoramic views over the bay of Naoussa from our room. It is just a 5-minute ATV ride from the beaches of Kolibithres and Monastiri, and has the cutest Greek design and a huge swimming pool!

Hire ATV's and go EXPLORE

Our favourite way to see the Greek islands is by ATV. They are cheap, easy to use and are a great way to find hidden gems. Paros isn't very big, you could easily drive around the entire island while making stops at cool sights and beaches.

Sights to see: Monastery of Panagia Ekatontapiliani & The Castle of Parikia

Beaches to stop at: Kolymbithres, Parasporos, Golden Beach, Pounda & Santa Maria

Villages to explore: Naoussa, Parikia, Lefkes

Have a Beach Day

Paros has some of the best beaches in all of Greece. Our favourite days during our time in Paros were the ones spent by the sea, sun bathing and taking it easy.

Our favourite beaches include:

Kolymbithres: The most famous beach in Paros because of its interesting geology. The granite rock formations are millions of years old and have created a unique scenery.

Santa Maria: This is the perfect beach if you enjoy water sports. A younger crowd comes to this beach for its wind surfing, water-skiing and scuba diving facilities but also for its beach bars, restaurants, tavernas and its general cool vibe.

Ai Yannis: Also known as Monastiri, every year from June until September, the local park’s annual festival takes place here and offers a variety of moonlight concerts, outdoor cinema films and events, all literally within a few steps from the beach.

Ambelas: This is a popular beach among the locals, located in the quiet fishing village of Ambelas. If you are looking for a more peaceful beach, away from the crowds than this is the one for you. Also, the local seafront tavernas in the village offer a variety of delicious fresh fish and seafood.

Flying The Nest was welcomed as a guest of Swiss Home Hotel, however as always, our opinions are our own.
