The Maldives was always a highlight for us and it will always be a special place because that is where I decided to propose to Jess. We had seen pictures on Pinterest (as Instagram wasn't the juggernaut it is today) and dreamed of the day we could save our pennies and afford one of those over water bungalows.And our verdict is, they are just as incredible as you expect them to be. Many tourists flock to Singapore to get a glimpse of the 3 towered hotel with what looks to be a cruise ship resting on top. However, it's not the room or the experience that you stay here for, it's the view of the city below you from the worlds largest and highest infinity pool.Honestly, we wouldn't be surprised if you decide to spend your entire trip watching the city go past you below as you sip on cocktails whilst the sun goes down.Read our Review:Marina Bay Sands Review

The Room JK Rowling Finished the Last Harry Potter Book

Though we didn't stay in the room that JK Rowling wrote the final words and signed the statue we did stay a few floors above her and managed to get the concierge to show us the room. Being quite the Harry Potter fan it was quite incredible to see the desk that ended the series.The Balmoral Hotel itself is located in one of Edinburgh's landmarks and oldest buildings. Glamping Tents in the Middle of South Africa

Out of all the hotels we have recommended in this list, I would say drop them all to experience the wonder of glamping in the middle of a game reserve in Africa. It's a tent on the outside but a 5 star hotel on the inside. This one we did not realise until we noticed the surrounding shops were Rolex and jewellery stores containing items with price tags that were way beyond our reach. Hotel Schweizerhof entails everything in relation to Swiss luxury. This one was hidden right under our noses in our own backyard! Literally just a few hours drive away from Perth in the beautiful wine region of Margaret River are these incredibly unique self catered domes.
