GLAMPING DOME GOALS: MILE END GLAMPING IN AUSTRALIA'S SOUTHWEST

Located in the beautiful wine region of Margaret River in Australia's Southwest you will find one of the most unique accommodations we have ever stayed in. If camping isn't your thing, don't be put off when you hear stories of travellers heading down south with campervans and tents, oh no these dome-shaped self contained villas at Mile End Glamping fall into the glamping "glamorous camping" category.

Located way off the main road on a Australian farm in a small town called Yelverton, we spent a night enjoying the relaxing sounds of nature & farm life while spotting kangaroos hopping by. Leave your phones and laptops behind (but make sure you bring your camera) because this is an off-the-grid luxury trip that you will never forget.

Glamping Inside a Dome

Just perfect for myself and Jess, our dome villa had everything we could want. Our nights sleep was on the worlds comfiest king sized four poster bed, our breakfast (we had pancakes ofcourse) was prepared in our kitchen and that night we enjoyed a relaxing spa bath outside with the stars above us.

The highlight of the dome was the giant floor-to-roof window stretched right across the living area with views visible from your bed. Positioned against the sunrise/set you won't need to worry about being awoken at early hours of the morning, even though we suggest setting an alarm as the morning sunrise was a spectacle worth getting up for.

What to do: Do Nothing

This is one of those travel experiences where we recommend you just take your time to enjoy where you are and simply just sit back and relax. Instead use your travel time driving home the next day to enjoy the wine region of Margaret River. The native bushland is more green, luscious and Mediterranean than you may expect on your trip to the Australian Southwest.

Our Experience

Arriving to slight showers and waking up to a very windy day did little to dampen our experience. Our time spent away from phones and internet was welcoming and much needed. We recommend bringing supplies to your dome as you will have your very own kitchen to prepare meals. Jess cooked up an Italian dinner followed by dessert found in our welcome hamper of fresh coffee and local fudge from the area.

Our day was long, but much needed to slow down and enjoy our time. Star gazing from our outdoor spa followed by one of the best sleeps we have ever had was the perfect way to unwind.

If you return home from a night away and immediately start telling friends and family to book a nights stay, you know you have found a place worth sharing about.

You can book one of these stunning Domes for AUD$300 per night twin share.

Flying The Nest was welcomed as a guest of Mile End Glamping, however as always all opinions are our own.
