5 BEST PLACES TO ISLAND HOP
We recently shared on Expedia about our experience climbing Mt. Batur during our time island hopping through Indonesia.
Here are 5 other great locations to island hop.
Thailand
There are so many islands scattered throughout Thailand making it an incredible place to island hop. During our visit to Phuket we spent an entire day hopping from island to island. We suggest heading to Phi Phi Island which is in our opinion the most beautiful island in Thailand. Also, make sure you take a visit to Phang Nga aka James Bond island. Here you will be able to see the iconic limestone rock in the James Bond film The Man with The Golden Gun, the view is breathtaking.

The Caribbean
The hardest part about travelling to The Caribbean is choosing which island to visit. Our response to this is why only visit one? With its turquoise waters and powdered sands, the islands that make up The Caribbean are incredible. We suggest the best way to do this kind of island hop is via a cruise ship. During our 7 day cruise through the Eastern Caribbean we were able to visit St. Thomas, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and St. Maarten.

The Maldives

The Maldives is such an incredible place to island hop as thousands of coral islands in the area are uninhabited and barely touched by humans. It is like hopping from paradise to paradise. The reefs are abundant with colourful coral and marine life and the islands are so peaceful and beautiful.
Fiji
Located in the warm South Pacific waters you will find a cluster of islands that make up Fiji. Again, many of the islands are uninhabited with beautiful beaches, tropical rainforests and incredible reefs. As island hopping is so popular in Fiji there are many companies that organise Fiji island passes from 5 to 21 days. You can simply choose which islands you want to visit, how many days you need, grab a pass and start hopping!
During our time in Fiji we only visited Lautoka and Suva, but want to return to Nadi and use the pass to island hop the Yasawa Island route.
Mystery Island, Vanuatu
Hawaii
Island hopping in Hawaii is a little different from the others, as in Hawaii you will need to island hop via plane! We suggest choosing Oahu as your base and from there flying to the 3 main islands, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island, for an incredible Hawaiian getaway.
