WHY WE LINED UP FOR 2 HOURS TO GO TO CAKE BOSS
Yep we know how ridiculous this blog post sounds so feel free to judge in the comment section - we will allow it this one time.
When we headed to New York City a few years back we had watched (okay maybe binged watched) a few episodes seasons of the TLC show 'Cake Boss'. We had heard that Carlos's Bakery was based in New Jersey so one day when we had nothing planned we decided to catch a 'quick' subway off the island to buy some tasty treats. Boy were we wrong about the 'quick' part.

We stepped out of the subway and walked down a few streets as Google Maps told us to turn right before arriving at our destination. We saw a small line out the front and were quite happy that this should be a nice quick-in-quick-out stop. However (dot dot dot) upon walking up to the line an assistant asked that we present our numbered ticket to enter to our much confusion.
She said (and I quote - well maybe not quote as it was a few years ago) "You need to line up across to street to get a number"...and that's when turned around to our shock and surprise to see one massive line.
Two Hours Later - Spongebob Squarepants
Don't lie - you so read that in the Spongebob voice-over guys voice.

Yep two hours it took for us to finally squeeze into the cramped bakery, pick what ever we could see, pay and leave. I would highly not recommend this activity for anyone who gets the tiniest bit nervous in tight places. We managed to buy some bare claws, red velvet brownie, some cupcakes and those cream filled tubes (which for the life of me cant remember what they're called).

The easy question to why we lined up for two hours and that simply is because we love food... but that wouldn't be a valid response now would it? If we said Cake Boss is kinda known for producing some fantastic looking deserts? Would that be enough? Nope? okaaaay i'll think of a better excuse.
In Australia, celebrities is not really part of our culture and if it is, it's more about American celebrities. When heading to the States we wanted to experience a little bit of American culture, which some might say celebrities are not part of the American culture, however I would argue back with the whole Hollywood point.
Cake Boss
Well we did it, it's now out there in the world thanks to this post. Oh and for the record those were some damn fine tasty treats.
Other experiences we have lined up 2 hours for
1) The Forbidden Journey Ride at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
2) Buying the last Harry Potter book (I see a trend here)
3) Depositing a bank cheque (who still uses that?)
4) Waiting for the results from our drivers test
5) The line at a shop to buy that last minute toy your nephew wants and you accidentally forgot to buy it at Christmas time
Have you lined up anywhere for 2 hours?
