CONQUERING MY FEAR OF HEIGHTS
If you asked me 5 years ago if I would ever jump out of a plane my answer would of been a big, fat NO. Also, If you had asked me where would I skydive- Dubai wouldn't have even crossed my mind. And here I am now. 5 years later. I have faced my fears of heights and conquered the craziest feat of all -I skydived over The Palm in Dubai!
SKYDIVING OVER THE PALM
This day didn't just happen over night. I have been readying myself ever since 2009. I was on a family holiday with Stephen in Bali and enjoying my time relaxing on the beach. Stephen leaned over to me and pointed towards the sky. There I saw a guy flying through the air with his parachute attached to a speedboat - parasailing as I now know it as. I looked back at Stephen with excitement written all over his face.
I stood there in fear as I watched Stephen getting harnessed into a parachute and before I knew it he was being dragged along by a speedboat as he flew up into the air. I knew I was next and I was petrified. I had never done anything like this before, I got hot sweats just walking across a high bridge! Once he landed, it was my turn. I didn't really have time to change my mind, it all happened so quickly. 5 balinese men were strapping me into the harness, quickly instructing me of what to do and before I had to time to say "Can you repeat that" I was running along the sand and flung high into the sky. All felt still. I looked out at the view and looked down seeing my feet dangle, the ground way below me. From that moment I was hooked!
SKYDIVING OVER THE PALM
As the years went on I challenged myself. I went parasailing in The Caribbean, went to the top of the empire state building, hiked to the top of an active volcano in Bali and even ran off a cliff in New Zealand, paragliding back to the ground. Once I arrived in Dubai I knew it was time to conquer something so many fear- skydiving.

The second I entered SkyDive Dubai my nerves left me. I could not believe how professional and organised it was. I felt like I was in such good hands and safe that literally all my nerves were gone and excitement kicked in. It all happens so quickly. You are strapped into a harness. You shake hands with your jumper. Taken to a small plane. And 20 minutes later you are sitting on the edge of a plane and jumping out over the most incredible view you have ever seen!

I hope this has motivated you to take the plunge and skydive. Coming from someone who knows what is like to face your fears and conquer them. It is the best feeling I have ever experienced!
Would you ever skydive?
