EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT UNIVERSAL STUDIOS, FLORIDA
The Universal Resort contains 3 separate parks – Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay. Sure, you’re bound to have an amazing time here. But what else can you expect when visiting Universal Resort Orlando? After spending a few days exploring the different areas, we have compiled a list of things all visitors should know!

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Spans 2 Parks
Hardcore fans may already know this – but you’ll need tickets to both Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure if you want to see all the Harry Potter attractions. Don’t forget to take the Hogwarts Express (it’s a full-scale replica that connects both parks).
Try the Butterbeer
Is it butterscotch? Is it cream soda? We aren’t 100%, but what we do know is that it is delicious! There are six different types of this tasty beverage in Universal Studios. Try cold Butterbeer at the Leaky Cauldron, frozen Butterbeer in Diagon Alley, or Butterbeer Fudge in Sugarplum’s Sweet Shop. If your sweet tooth can handle it, we recommend trying each one!
Don’t Stick to Just One World
If you only have a short time at Universal Studios, it could be tempting to want to spend all your time in just one world (we could easily live in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter). However, the park has so much to offer, so it’s best to plan out your day to make sure you see the other areas, like Marvel Super Hero Island and Jurassic Park Land.
Catch the Shows and Parades
The rides may be the biggest attractions, but the shows and parades are equally as amazing! See your favourite characters at the Universal Superstar Parade, jam out to the Blues Brother’s Live Music Performance, or see how real animals act in the Animal Actors on Location Show! After waiting in line for hours, it can be nice just to sit back and relax while being entertained.
Utilize the Child Swap System
Both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure have a designated Child Swap area. If you’re visiting with a child who’s too young or small to ride – don’t worry! You can all queue for the ride together, and then one adult can wait with the child while the other one goes on the ride. You will then swap so that the other parent has the chance to ride as well!
Download the Universal Studios App
Universal Studios and its neighboring parks are huge! With so many worlds, restaurants, rides, and shows, it can be hard to keep track of everything you want to do and see. We recommend downloading and getting acquainted with the Universal Studios App. It will show you the park layout so you can choose exactly where you want to go. You can even order ahead at some of the restaurants and even reserve a ride time at select attractions (which is a huge time saver!).
