BEST TRAVEL CAMERA GEAR FOR TRAVEL VLOGGERS

Some of our most frequently asked question's would have to be, "What camera did you film that with?", "What software do you edit on?" and "What lens did you use to capture that shot?". Today we will be telling you what is the best travel camera gear - and more!

We have been travel vlogging pretty much full time for just over 2 years now and during that time we have learnt a lot. If you look back on our first vlogs from early 2015 and compare them to vlogs we have produced this year you will notice how much we have learnt and grown throughout this experience. Today we want to share with you our favourite gear we use when creating our travel videos.

Our Favourite DLSR: Sony A7SII Camera

This is our main filming and photography camera. We switched to a mirrorless setup to keep our weight down, both for being on the move and also for flight baggage fees. This camera has excellent in built image stabilization to get smooth footage. If you are still learning the ropes, this camera is fantastic as it has built in apps like easy solutions for timelapses, smooth waterfalls and even star lapses.

Our Favourite Lens: Sony FE 24-240mm f/3.5-6.3 Zoom Lens

Our main lens for filming and photograph due to its flexibility in being a zoom lens and still being a compact size to vlog on.

Our Favourite On-The-Go Tripod: JOBY GorillaPod

This is the flexible tripod I recommend you use. We have the model down but at times it can't withstand the weight of the camera. This setup is perfect for holding whilst vlogging and also it attaches to just about everything if you want to grab a timelapse or tripod shot.

Our Favourite Point-And-Shot: Canon G7 X II

We use the model down and absolutely love it for having a quick point and shoot in your pocket to capture moments that are too quick for you to get your DSLR out for. Unfortunately they discontinued our model but this is its replacement.

Our Favourite Drone: DJI Mavic Pro Drone

This is the drone I 100% recommend for travel. We used the Phantom series & used it sporadically. Now with the Mavic, it's small size and ease of use means I use it all the time.

We do recommend if you are travelling to get the bundle as it comes with a carry case, Shoulder Bag, extra Propellers, Car Charger and 2 Extra Batteries as well as an adaptor that lets you charge all your batteries at once.

Our Favourite Action Camera: GoPro HERO5 Black

When you want to grab those action shots, underwater shots or POV shots we recommend you pick up a GoPro.

& Our Favourite Travel Camera Accessories...

Muff for your Microphone

These are perfect for sticking onto your on board microphone to stop the wind from ruining your audio.

Manfrotto Compact Aluminum Tripod

Aluminium Tripod perfect for travel and is light weight.

JOBY Ballhead

This is to be used with your JOBY Gorillapod. It also easily detaches and I also use the in-built leveller when framing my shots.

Sony NP-FW50 Rechargeable Battery

The one downside of the Sony A7S is that you will be going through batteries a lot. We personally have 4 batteries and can go through half of those in a day, more if we are doing timelapses or 4K footage.

SanDisk 128GB SDXC

When it comes to shooting 1080/60fps or 4K footage on your Sony, you will be going through a lot of storage.

KAYOND Travel Protective Storage Case Bag

Ever since we dropped our HDD in Costa Rica and lost 2TB worth of footage we always recommend you have a storage case for your portable HDD.

LaCie Rugged 1TB External Hard Drive

A bit more pricier than your standard portable HDD but worth it for the shock and drop resistance. If you are travelling this is what we recommend.
