SWISS ELEGANCE AT HOTEL SCHWEIZERHOF ZURICH
Upon reflecting our stay at the Hotel Schweizerhof in Zurich, one sentence keeps coming to my mind - this was one of the best hotels that we stayed at in all of Europe!
In The Heart of Zurich
Located directly opposite the central train station, this hotel is convenient for both travellers arriving via train and those who want to be in the heart of Zurich. You are located near Lake Zurich, 12th Century Cathedrals and just about every Swiss chocolate and watch shop your heart can desire.
Alongside a buffet breakfast and a la carte menu (I think we ordered too many crepes from the chef) you are seated near large window boasting views of Bahnhofstrasse - one of the most expensive shopping street in the world - dream away, we certainly did.
A Room Fit For Royalty
Our tiredness of travelling from Germany to Switzerland was soon washed away as we stepped into our room. We walked through two bathrooms to get to our a lounge room, king sized bed, luggage room and amenities from a Nespresso machine to creams by Luis Widmer and toiletries by Bulgari - we had arrived in a suite fit for royalty.
What really surprised us was the inclusion of just about every modern fitting you could think of. Alongside high speed WiFi, we had a tablet that connected us to the hotels room service, front desk and events around Zurich. The bed contained an adjustable base which ensured we had one of the best nights sleep we have had in a long time.
Personal Touch
If we put aside the location and architecture of the hotel and just focus on the service there would still be a shining light in main street Zurich. The familiar red bell man who adorns their logo made sure our first impression was memorable as our bags were dealt with during our escort to the front desk and up to our room by management with a handwritten letter welcoming us.
Now you can imagine our shock when we heard a gentle knock at night from a friendly old butler who generously provided us with complimentary bars of chocolates, fruit and drink to retire to. This soon became our favourite thing to look forward to each night. We later found out our butler had made the jams that greeted us at breakfast the next day, talk about a personal touch!
If you didn't already know we film our lives every single day, so why not view our reactions to the hotel as well as what we got up to in Switzerland in the playlist below:
