UNMISSABLE THINGS TO DO IN PRAGUE
Prague left a special mark on our trip through Europe due to being one of the few cities that emerged from WWII with its medieval buildings almost entirely intact. With its colourful buildings, terracotta roofs and fairytale feel - Prague is a must see city to explore in Europe.
With so many places to go out and see, it's hard to bring it down to just 10, so if you only have a few days, here are some unmissable things to do during your time exploring Prague...
1. Stroll through Old Town Square
Prague's Old Town Square has got to be one of the most beautiful spots in the city. Full of colourful buildings, old cobblestone streets, cute cafes and restaurants serving delicious traditional Czech food and drink.
Old Town Square is a must to start your time here due to the amazing atmosphere it provides. Here you can get a real feel for the city as you walk past interesting buskers, performers and music filling the air. We personally visited Old Town Square numerous times and can easily say that you can spend an entire afternoon strolling through the area.

2. Visit Prague Castle
Being one of the largest castles in the world, ThePrague Castle is absolutely breathtaking as it towers over the city. Just about every photograph you see of Prague will somehow showcase this castle, and you can tell why. The size and beauty of this castle will urge you to explore it.
Being the ancient residence of Czech kings, the current seat of the Czech President and, also a UNESCO World Heritage site - if you bump into someone and mention you didn't visit Prague castle during your visit they may just reply with "why not?".
The great thing is that when we visited the castle grounds we didn't spend a dime. This site can be explored for free, with an optional fee only to enter inside the buildings. Remember this is an extremely large castle so set aside at least half a day to wander and take it all in.

3. Views From Atop Old Town Hall Tower
For incredible views of Old Town Square, Prague Castle and the river Vltava we highly recommend paying the small fee to head to the top of the Old Town Hall Tower. Built in 1338, the tower is one of the most striking buildings in Prague, with even more striking views of the city below.
We often try to find high points in cities that we visit as it allows you to get a lay of the land. Alongside taking way to many photographs, panoramas and videos, the small admission fee easily pays for itself when you realise how much of a fairytale kingdom Prague looks like from above.

4. Walk Over Charles Bridge
The Charles Bridge (previously known as The Stone Bridge) is a famous historic bridge here in Prague. Construction started in 1357 and was completed during the early 15th century, it was the only means of crossing the river Vltava until 1814 making it the most important connection between Prague Castle and the city's Old Town.
Alongside crossing the Charles Bridge we also recommend walking down the banks on either side of the bridge to get some great photo spots of both Prague Castle and Old Town.

5. Explore the Jewish Quarter
Prague’s Jewish Quarter, or Josefov, is located directly north of the Old Town Square. Home to some beautiful synagogues, many dating back to as early as the 16th century, have now been converted into museums and memorials to the Holocaust victims. You will also be able to find Europe’s oldest surviving Jewish cemetery in this neighbourhood.

6. Check Out The Lennon Wall
In Kampa, a neighbourhood by the river you will find the Lennon Wall. Towards the end of Communism in the 1980's, people began to write Beatles and John Lennon lyrics on this wall as a way to express their grievances. Today the wall represents love and peace and anyone is allowed to write or paint on it making each visit unique.

7. Taste A Trdelník
If you have made your way to our daily travel YouTube channel you know we love to try sweets from around the world. So when we were recommend by a past traveller to try a trdelnik we jumped straight at the opportunity.
This sweet pastry may have mixed origins, but it’s still a favourite here in Prague. The hollow cylinder pastry is covered with sugar and cinnamon, and we highly recommend getting the nutella inside. It's the perfect afternoon treat and just don't ask us how to pronounce it.

8. Walk Around Petrin Park
Petrin Park is the largest and most beautiful park with breathtaking views of Prague. Yes we have already recommended the views from Old Town Hall Tower but this spot gives you a different perspective on the city.
Within the park you will find a garden, maze and a lookout tower that looks similar to the Eiffel Tower. The park is on a large hill so walking around can be a little strenuous, however the views from the top are well worth it.

9. The Prague Astronomical Clock
Okay, after the reaction we had to this clock we just had to add it to our list. The Astronomical Clock is known as one of the most overhyped attractions in the world. Though the hourly show that people line up for is anticlimactic, the detail and artistry of the clock make it one of the most beautiful in Europe. The clock was first installed in 1410, which makes it the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest one still working!
