LIVING LIKE A LOCAL: WIMDU IN BRUSSELS

We have been travelling full time now for 10 months, living from hotel room to hotel room. Don't get us wrong, we absolutely love what we do, and being able to travel for such a long period of time is incredible, however after a while you do start missing those comforts only home can bring. This is where the vacation rental comes in.

We were exhausted from bouncing across Europe for the last month and we needed a place we could call home for a few nights. We decided to stay a few nights in Brussels in an apartment with Wimdu to have some down time.

Checking Into Our Brussels Apartment

Our apartment booked with Wimdu was on the top floor of a newly renovated building owned by a friendly violinist named Valentin. We were greeted with a smile as we climbed the stairs to the 5th floor where we would be staying for the next two nights. Once we opened the door the first thing that caught our eye was the incredible view we had over the city - totally worth all those steps to the top floor.

We could not get over how large, modern and beautifully decorated the apartment was. It was simply our dream hipster apartment if we were ever to settle down in a major city. Our favourite thing about staying in vacation rentals is having our homely necessities such as a kitchen and lounge room. Being able to come back from a day of exploring, preparing a home cooked meal and putting our feet up to watch a movie makes us feel like a local in a foreign country.

Located along the border of the city center, we were walking distance from the hustle and bustle of the city, but just far enough out to have some peace and quiet when we needed it. With a metro stop 1 minute walk away, we felt like it was the perfect location to be in here in Brussels.
