5 TRAVEL HACKS FOR BOOKING THAT CHEAP FLIGHT
1. Check a number of flight search websites
There are many websites out there that compare airline prices, our favourites include Skyscanner, Expedia and CheapOair. However we never rely on just one, check a number of flight search sites to see which one is giving the best deal that day.
2. ... but don't rely on the flight search websites
Once you find your cheap flight check the airlines website to see if they are giving any cheaper deals. This has happened to us a few times and we know always check this before booking through Skyscanner or Expedia.
3. Use an Incognito Browser
Have you ever searched for a flight and returned to re-search the next day to notice an insane price hike? Yep, your search history can be monitored by airlines! To avoid this use a private window in your browser to search undetected.
4. Travel mid-week
The cheapest time to travel is on a Wednesday or Thursday. Not many travellers leave during the mid-week, so fares are usually lower than those on the weekends. We suggest to also avoid flying on holidays because the influx of travellers cause prices to increase.
5. Sign up for email alerts
Flight prices are always changing, sometimes up to 4 times per day! We always sign up to newsletters and deals from different airlines, just ensure when you get the email alert you are ready to book. From doing this we have received buy one flight get one free multiple times.
Also, if there is a certain date you are waiting to drop in price, you can get email alerts when the price has lowered instead of checking for yourself every day.
