CHECKING INTO THE REVELSTOKE MOUNTAIN RESORT IN CANADA
Whilst travelling from Vancouver to the Canadian Rockies we ended up spending a night in Revelstoke, BC. Checking into the Revelstoke Mountain Resort was a great way to send off British Columbia before entering Alberta for the very first time the next day.
The actual hotel we stayed in was called the Sutton Place Hotel and it is located within the Revelstoke Mountain Resort which is a ski-in, ski out facility nestled between some of the most beautiful mountain ranges. We checked in during summer which meant no skiing for us - but the views from our balcony more than made up for it.

The Location
To paint a picture for you, Revelstoke is a small town in BC and is about half way between Vancouver and Calgary. This town is a great place for a stop over if you don't want to risk a tireless night on the highway when driving towards Alberta. Though we didn't have time to go out and explore Revelstoke we certainly made sure we could sit back and enjoy the breathtaking views of the mountain ranges surrounding us.
Checking into The Sutton Place Hotel
The Sutton Place Hotel is situated in the heart of Revelstoke Mountain Resort and is one of the newest ski-in, ski-out luxury hotels in Canada. I don't think that we will ever get over the idea of walking out your room and straight onto the slopes - I don't know how to explain it - it just adds to the experience.
The hotel consist of three main buildings and features 205 guest rooms and suites, four on-site dining experiences, an outdoor heated pool and of course fitness centre - but who are we kidding? I think we just checked it out to make us feel like we did some sort of exercise on our trip. P.s. totally just lied to you - we didn't go see the gym, we just spent our entire time in the hot tub.

The Room
Sutton Place Revelstoke has 222 guest rooms and suites which we were informed are all booked up during winter. Luckily we came during summer so instead of the hustle of too many tourists we enjoyed a very quite and empty hotel.
Our room had two double beds (before you ask - yes we did join them into one super bed), a fully furnished kitchen, living room, dining area, free WiFi and the best part - our very own fire. It's more like staying in a little apartment than a simple hotel room - we loved it! If you are looking for a place to stay that is super convenient with a lot of room Sutton Place is perfect.
If you can drag yourself away from the fire and onto your own personal balcony you will see some incredible views across the Columbia River to the Monashee Mountains. This is where your room price is justified, we still can't stop thinking about the picturesque views.

The Slopes
Revelstoke Mountain Resort is Canada’s newest ski resort. It is famously known for its longest lift-served vertical in North America (1713m). Revelstoke is the only resort on the continent to offer lift skiing, heli-skiing, cat-skiing and backcountry skiing from one village base.
We visited in the summer and could not experience these slopes for ourselves. With the ski lifts dormant during the warmer months we looked up and could not see where the ski lift ended. For ski and snowboard lovers we highly recommend checking out this resort during ski season.

Final Thoughts
Even though we experienced this hotel as apart of a larger tour, after checking out the actual price of the rooms later on, we couldn't believe the value of the apartment sized suites, facilities available at the village and the amazing views witnessed from our balcony. I think we might have to plan a trip here in winter just to experience some snowboarding straight from our room.
There are a lot of summer & winter package deals starting at $95 per room/night.
Flying the Nest visited Revelstoke Mountain Resort as a guest of Discover Canada Tours. Our opinion is as always, our own.
