WHAT WE HAVE ACHIEVED IN 6 MONTHS OF TRAVEL BLOGGING
Six months ago the first blog post on Flying The Nest went live. That post began with a quote by Michael Plain - “once the travel bug bites there is no known antidote, and I know that I shall be happily infected until the end of my life”. The travel bug we have growing inside is still just as strong, but there is something else we have become addicted to - sharing our experiences online.
After blogging for 6 months and sharing what we have experienced during our travels together with our ever growing audience has become so addicting and we love it! We started Flying The Nest to record our past adventures and the ones to come. Of course our end goal was to eventually use this platform to help pursue our dreams of travelling the world full time, but we did not realise that this would begin within the first 6 months of blogging!
Here are some milestones Flying The Nest achieved during it's first 6 months:
September 13th, 2014: Flying The Nest was launched along with it's first five blog posts
October 4th, 2014: We had our very first interview with Travel N Thrill
October 20th, 2014: We hit 1,000 unique visitors
November 24th, 2014: We hit 100,000 unique visitors (yes, our minds where blown!)
December 1st, 2014: The keyword 'Flying The Nest' got to the top of google (we had to get above those idiom meanings!)
December 12th, 2014: Reached 1,000 Facebook followers
December 17th, 2014: The 100th post on Flying The Nest went live.
December 24th, 2014: We hit 200,000 unique visitors
January 2nd, 2015: Made it into the top 100 travel blogs on Bloglovin'
February 9th, 2015: We began our year of full time travel & launched Flying The Nest's YouTube channel
February 12th, 2015: We worked with our first sponsored travel company
March 6th, 2015: We hit 5,000 views on YouTube
March 7th, 2015: Met up with our first reader (the best part about travel blogging, being able to connect with people from around the world!)
March 10th, 2015:Daily vlogging our travels on YouTube for 1 month
March 11th, 2015: We hit 500,000 unique visitors!!
March 12th, 2015: Flying The Nest made it's first $
March 13th, 2015: Flying The Nest hits its 6 month anniversary
We have worked so hard over the last 6 months and it feels good to take some time to celebrate all that we have accomplished. We are so excited to see what is to come during 2015!
We could never of achieved any of this if it wasn't for all our loyal readers. We just want to say a HUGE thank you to all that have supported us during our first 6 months and we can not wait to share with you the next 6!
