10 SIMPLE TRAVEL HACKS

1. Clear those cookies

Before you search for any flights make sure you clear your history, cookies and cache. Many websites track how many times you have visited their site and change their prices accordingly.

2. Get rolling

When you are packing for your next trip away, roll your clothes to save space and avoid wrinkles. We even roll our underwear and socks within our clothes for optimal space saving!

3. No charger, no problem

If you forget the wall plug in for your phone charger, check the back of your hotel TV - there is usually a USB port.

4. Ditch those hotel prices

Instead of booking hotels, we like to look into reserving a home. Websites such as AirBnB provide houses and private rooms from home owners who are renting them out, usually available for a much cheaper price then a hotel room.

5. Become a hero for other travellers

Bring along a power board, you never know when you need a recharge.

6. Neaten up those pesky cables

Glass cases are perfect for storing chargers and cables.

7. Don't forget to contact your bank

It is very important you call your bank before leaving to another country. You don't want them to suspect something suspicious is going on and freeze your accounts while you're overseas.

8. Don't spend $5 on water

We always like to bring an empty water bottle which we can refill once we have passed security instead of buying ridiculously priced water in the airport.

9. The cheeky extra seat trick

As we travel in a pair this works well for us. When reserving seats for two people, choose the aisle and the window seats. If no one takes the middle seat, you've got yourself a full row, and if someone does, just ask them if it is okay to switch your seats so you can sit next to your travel buddy.

10. Watch out ... it's fragile

Another cheeky trick is to mark your luggage as fragile. It is a great way to ensure your baggage is handled correctly and is usually kept to the top, which will make it one of the first bags to be released.
