TOP WALT DISNEY WORLD RIDES

We felt like big kids when we arrived at Walt Disney World in Orlando. The characters we loved to watch during our childhood, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King and Mickey Mouse, would soon be right in front of us. We both did not grow up anywhere near a Disney World, let alone any theme parks, so it was a surreal felling as we drove to the park watching the castle get bigger and bigger.

The more you wait for something the more you will enjoy it - this certainly was the case during our first day in Disney World. We arrived when the doors opened and left as the doors closed, don't believe us? Photographic evidence has been placed at the end of this post! Let us share with you our favourite Walt Disney World rides in Orlando Florida across all the parks including Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.

Kilimanjaro Safari at Animal Kingdom

Our favourite types of rides involve being completely immersed in the world or universe you have been placed into. Throughout the ride we felt as though we had been transported to an African Savanna and were partaking in a real safari. We have been to many zoos but nothing comes close to experiencing animals in a pseudo natural habitat. One of our top bucket list activities is to go on a Safari at the Kruger National Park and this ride at least somewhat satisfied our itch.

Test Track at Epcot

You tend to hear a lot about what rides you should go to at Disney World but this one somehow slipped past us. When we arrived we were semi-oblivious to what we were doing until we stepped into the ride and were explained that we would be going on a high-octane test track. This is a very quick ride but it does offer an interesting queue line that shows you the construction of the car you are about to step into.

Star Tours - The Adventures Continue at Disney's Hollywood Studios

We are both huge movie watchers and I am well a Star Wars fan but that is not why it made our list. This ride includes some of the best 3D screens and displays we have ever experienced at a cinema or home screen. Combine the motion simulation of the starship and it's hard not to feel like you have been transported to a galaxy far far away.

Soarin at Epcot

As we said earlier we love rides that immerse you and Soarin was no different. Soarin involves strapping yourself into a hang glider while you explore some of California's most popular scenery. The way the ride includes gushes of wind at certain moments inline with movement of the ride makes you feel like you are really up there in the sky.

Peter Pan's Flight at Magic Kingdom Park

This is a ride you won't normally find on many top 10 lists so maybe it was because this was our last ride of the night, maybe we were exhausted or maybe we had low expectations of it being a children's ride but we loved it. Sit back, relax and enjoy the retelling of this classic Disney tale.

Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom

I think Jess will disagree with me on this one due to her immense dislike of roller coasters and getting off the ride as a giant sweat bucket, but it didn't stop me from loving it. The build up of tension is high as you slowly climb Mount Everest before quickly escaping from the Abominable Snowman (backwards at a crazy speed).

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular

This attraction was so intricately put together that we did not know what would happen next. Without spoiling the show the way that they open up the attraction to introduce each new scene is just as amazing as the stunts and special effects. Plan ahead to make sure you don't miss it.

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at Hollywood Studios

This is one of the few dark roller coasters that I have enjoyed. You start off in a classic stretch limo as you go past Hollywood icons all whilst classic rock music blares all around you, it's hard not to enjoy this concert on wheels.

What about Space Mountain and Tower of Terror?

To be honest I know that these are usually on everyone's top favourite lists but they weren't for us. For one I am not a huge fan of rides that take place mostly in the dark and Rockin Roller Coaster just did a better job at doing that. Also, I can't say I enjoy rides that involve immediate falling and being one of the most popular rides at the park - the payoff just wasn't there.

Told you we made it till midnight :P

Note about pictures: Hey guys - we do try as hard as possible to take our own photographs but the majority of the time we couldn't take them on the rides and most of our photos are of us posing in front of the entrance and didn't show the excitement of the ride. The majority of the photographs were taken directly from the Disney website.

Have you been? What’s your favourite Disney World Rides? We would love to hear in the comment section below, Tweet us or leave a post on Facebook.
