DAY TRIP: THE PINNACLES

I had heard about the Pinnacles from a colleague at work and wanting to spend some much needed time with Jess, we both decided that Easter Friday would be a great day to grab the cameras and go on a mini road trip up north.

After 2 hours of driving out of Perth and going through a few of our favourite albums, we had made it up to Nambung National Park near Cervantes. Not knowing much about the Pinnacles and only expecting just a few limestone formations, we were blown away when we were surrounded by hundreds of Pinnacles rising out from the yellow sand dunes.

We had scheduled to arrive at sunset, and with about half an hour of sun left, we were right on schedule. After parking the car we headed on foot and hiked throughout the park taking as many photos as possible as the sun slowly started to set behind the giant rock formations.

There have been many proposals on how these Pinnacles came about but one thing is for sure, they are an amazing sight to see. If you are based in Perth and have access to a car, we recommend packing a picnic and taking the drive.

Travel Tip: Depending on how much time you want to spend at The Pinnacles, we highly recommend arriving about half an hour before sunset to get some truly remarkable photographs.
