Canada Destination Guides

Located in the Coastal Mountains of British Columbia about two hours north of Vancouver, Whistler is an amazing place for a getaway any time of the year.

If you ever find yourself in Whistler during the summer with only 24 hours to spare – here is a little guide of what your perfect day could look like…

24 hours in Whistler:

Begin your morning with a fresh smoothie and healthy brekkie at The Green Moustache. We suggest grabbing their Bircher Muesli Bowl and a Dali Smoothie made with mixed berries, banana, goji berries, hemp seeds, almond milk & honey – delicious.

You can’t miss Whistlers insane views, so next stop is the Peak 2 Peak gondola. We suggest trying to get into one of the two glass-bottom cars for the full experience. This gondola broke a world record for being the longest and highest unsupported lift in the world. Once you arrive at the top you will be greeted with incredible 360° views.

From the Peak 2 Peak Gondola you can access over 50km of hiking trails. We suggest checking out the Alpine Walk if you are looking for an easy, short hike. If you are looking for something a  little longer then you should try out the Overload Trail or Lakeside Loop that take around 2-3 hours to complete. Once you have chosen a trail you will be met with jaw-dropping vistas, ancient glaciers, alpine lakes and wildflower-filled meadows.

After your hike we recommend grabbing some lunch on the mountain top at 6000ft. There are a couple of places to choose from, all with insane views – simply take your pick.

After lunch head back down the mountain to the Scandinave Spa Whistler for a much needed afternoon of relaxation. Surrounded by beautiful forest and incredible mountain views, this 20,000-square-foot spa is the best way to end a morning of hiking. How you spend your time at the spa is up to you. You can keep it simple and get access to their incredible spa facilities or go a little fancier and try out a massage or thai yoga class.

Spend your evening strolling through the streets of Whistler Village. There are plenty of places to shop or you can check out the Whistler Olympic Plaza which holds concerts and performances throughout the summer.

There are so many dining options in the Village it is hard to recommend just one. For a good burger check out Splitz Grill, for amazing wood-fire pizzas you have to try Caramba or for a fine dining experience head to Trattoria Di Umberto for excellent Italian cuisine.

Beuatiful clear night in Whistler Village after fresh snow
