1. Paraglide

We have been lucky enough to experience the amazing rush of paragliding in Queenstown. If you haven’t heard of it, paragliding is simply running off the face of a mountain with a parachute strapped to your back. Sounds dangerous, yet exhilarating doesn’t it? Trust us, its the latter of the two.

2. Anything Snow Related

Ski, snowboard, touch it, taste it, play in it or even build a snowman … there is plenty of snow to go around! During our trip we insisted on visiting both popular mountains in the region. One day we headed to Coronet Peak to go skiing and the other was a day out at The Remarkables for snowboarding.

3. Grab a Fergburger

When we arrived in Queenstown, New Zealand we heard constantly from other travellers and even our concierge that we have to try a Fergburger with claims that they sell the best burgers in the world. So we decided to take them up on it … and they were right! When in Queenstown you must grab lunch at this amazing burger joint.

4. Lord of the Rings Tour

If you are like us and big fans of anything LOTR’s related you have to go on a Lord of the Rings Tour. There are so many different tours available that take you to the movie locations and allow you to journey deep into Middle Earth.

5. Bungy Jump

Probably Queenstown’s most famous thrill-seeking activity is bungy jumping. Are you brave enough to do it?

  • I’m just back from Queenstown and I have to recommend going parasailing on the lake in the summer months – it was breathtaking!
Definitely another vote for Fergburger, but Fergbaker next door is just as amazing!

    • Parasailing on the lake sounds amazing! We have only been there over the winter months but when we return during the summer we will look into that!!

  • LOVE a Ferg Burger, totally worth the wait!

  • Ah – well I think if you did skydiving the day before we can easily let you off 😛 When we did the parasailing Jess was still quite afraid of heights – but a few years later she convinced herself to finally skydive 🙂

Hey, I will be visiting Queenstown in June. I’ve timed my traveling during the Winter Festival. Any advice for a first time traveller?

    P.S: I’m traveling alone.
