We all love a good getaway, and I am sure destinations like Paris, New York, Rome and London are on the top of your list. While those popular travel spots are indeed incredible, have you ever considered visiting a place off-the-beaten-track, lesser known and a little more interesting?

There are so many incredible countries that are not getting the appreciation they deserve! Here are our top underrated holiday destinations from around the world we think you should consider for your next vacation.

10. Lisbon, Portugal

Lisbon is the perfect destination for travellers on a budget. Flights are commonly less expensive than other parts of Europe and the country it self seems pretty affordable. The city is picturesque with lots of beautiful streets and parks to explore.

Gdańsk is over one thousand years old with a unique feel that sets it aside from all other cities in Poland. If you are looking for a city teeming with history, then Gdansk is the destination for you. After being bombed during the war the city was reconstructed to resemble its 14th century appearance – making for a postcard-worthy location.

8. The Philippines

During the summer many flock to Indonesia or Thailand for a beach getaway, forgetting the breathtaking Philippines.
